My Work and Training Environment at SENA
My work environment is currently focused on the training process as a Software Analysis and Development Technologist at SENA. Although I am not yet officially associated with a company, during my training period I have had a very close experience with the workplace thanks to the institution's practical approach, which prepares us to work in real software development teams.
Tools I Use
In developing activities, I use both programming and organizational tools. Some of the most common are:
Visual Studio Code: for writing and testing code.
Git and GitHub: for version control and collaborative work.
Trello or Jira: for managing tasks and following the project flow.
Databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL: depending on the type of project.
Figma: for interface design when working on the visual aspect of applications.
Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Meet): for collaborating with colleagues and presenting deliverables.
Communication with the Team
Communication with my team is constant and essential. We generally organize ourselves through:
WhatsApp or Telegram groups, for quick updates and daily coordination.
Virtual meetings on Meet, where we discuss progress, problems, or tasks.
Collaborative environments such as Google Docs or GitHub, which allow us to work as a team, provide feedback, and validate each other's work.
I always try to maintain clear, respectful, and assertive communication, as a positive team atmosphere is key to a smooth work flow.
Activities I typically perform
Among the activities I perform in the training process and job simulation are:
Analysis of user or client requirements.
Design of UML diagrams such as use cases, class diagrams, and activity diagrams.
Development of functionalities using languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
Software testing to ensure it works correctly.
Documentation of the code and the processes followed.
User interface (UI) design focused on usability.
I also get involved in activities such as project progress presentations, delivery planning, and peer feedback, which has helped me develop soft skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and organization.
